SourceCon 2010 / ERE FireFox Lab

On March 15th, 2010 at 2pm in San Diego, we will unveil a unique experience in the form of a FireFox Add-On Lab. I will be co-facilitating this session along with Mr. John Turnberg.

Purpose:

To share FireFox Add-On’s to increase our collective ability to produce more value added results in less time through leveraging the FireFox browser more effectively.  If you were to build a team of sourcers and select Mozilla Firefox 3.6 as your web browser of choice, these would be the tools you would want every team member to install and benefit from. The selection panel’s selection criteria will include such factors as, ease of use, frequency of use, productivity gain, wow factor/uniqueness, and multi-functionality & feature set.

What in it for YOU?

Increased productivity, recognition for your expertise, inclusion in an exclusive community that will be ongoing to exchange ideas via Social Networking in action and a host of bonus value adds presented in a unique format that will instantly make you more productive the second the session ends.

We have a panel of student-masters who will filter through the submissions to select the top 10-15 that will be presented at SourceCon/ERE.

If your submission is selected we will help you develop a 3-5 minute JING video introducing your contribution and how it helps you work more productively.  Your idea, you get the credit.

You don’t even have to attend SourceCon or ERE to be recognized.

Steps to make your submission:

  1. Register or log into this website (http://aces.arbita.net)

  2. Save yourself some time and make sure your suggestion has not already been submitted! Check the up-to-date FireFox Add-On list here

The above list will clearly show who submitted the add-on and when it was entered so everyone can see it with complete transparency. A brief write-up on each submittal is presented when you follow the link.

  3. Complete a submittal form for your FireFox Add-on

  4. CLARIFICATIONYou do not need to create an Add-on, simply tell us about one that you already use, or one that you like from the list of available FireFox Add-ons here!

      But Wait ….There’s More

We will also have a Silver Medalist category for those ideas that are great but due to time constraints there just isn’t enough time to present.  Your contributions will also be publically recognized and you will also receive some special bonuses not available to the general public.

      But Wait….There’s Even More

This is a secret but there are even more bonus value adds for those who support the session.

Teamwork and Leadership

Russ thank you for taking on this project! I am honored and flattered that you selected me as a volunteer judge. This kind of collaborative "crowdsourcing" is something I'm personally passionate about so please count on me to contribute in any way I can to make this a complete success.

You know... I predict that the end result of this will be a veritable sourcing encyclopedia of FF add-ons! If so then perhaps next it would be worth tackling the whole widget/app world in general, even those which stand alone from a browser!

Cheers,
Shally
