Recruitment PPC - How to Minimize Unqualified Clicks & High Click Fees

In today’s job marketing my guess is you’re probably receiving a lot of contacts from many unqualified candidates or even from candidates that are outside of the country.
Unfortunately there’s not a way completely weed out the unqualified candidate using any recruitment marketing channel. However, when it comes to recruitment PPC
if you are targeting appropriately and catering your ads to only those candidates that you want to attract, you’re likely to get far fewer unqualified candidates.
Below are some 5 tips to consider when launching your recruitment PPC ads.
1. If your job is in Minnesota, for example make sure you’re not targeting the entire world; only choose to have your ad shown in Minnesota or at the very least the US.
2. If you are looking for experienced people, mention it in your ad. “Looking for Experienced .net Developers. Apply Online Today”
3. On your landing page or job description reiterate important information such as your looking for a candidate with at least 5 years experience
and you’re sorry but this person has to be legally able to work in the United States.
4. In terms of reducing your PPC fees – make sure that you’re targeting as precise as possible, that you are including your keyword within your ad copy as well as
within the page you are landing people on. This will increase your Google Quality Score which will in turn reduce your cost per click.
5. Did you know that generally 80% of your traffic usually comes from 20% of your keywords? That said, it may make sense so work to refine your keywords list.
Do you really need to have search engine visibility for 200 keywords if only 25 are performing well?
At the end of the day, there is no way to prevent unqualified clicks 100% but with some refining of your ad campaigns you can certainly get a lot more for your recruitment marketing dollars.
