Recruiting game-changer learning event coming to your area in 2010

Do you keep hearing about great recruiting and sourcing industry conferences and wondered if they'd ever bring those world-class presenters and best practices to your area?  That way, you wouldn't have to deal with the costs and time lost from travel.  Not a webinar, but an actual, in-person event.

Not only would you learn from industry thought leaders, but you'd also network with corporate recruiting practitioners right in your locale who seek to become the best as well.  There'd be no random set of presentations spread over days, but a very focused, one-day event that addressed the recruiting/sourcing issues that matter to today's HR/recruiting organizations with strategies and tactics that you could take back to your desk and implement.

Well, it's finally here: the Total Recruiting Symposium 2010 tour.

Join us for the only learning event that explores sourcing and recruiting strategy from the executive perspective, the management perspective and the individual contributor perspective.  Held at locations across the US, and beyond, starting this March. Featuring industry luminaries Don Ramer, Shally Steckerl, Conni LaDouceur and others, you'll get strategic and tactical guidance on recruitment strategy, Internet sourcing, and phone identification / talent mapping. Are You Ready for the Economic Recovery?

The global economic recession changed the recruitment game in many ways, some temporary and some permanent. For example, the abundance of candidates for a relative dearth of job openings is temporary. But the mass migration to social media as a career management (and recruiting) tool is permanent.

As the economy gradually recovers, quality candidates will become scarce again and voluntary turnover will increase as disaffected employees who survived the recession find greener grass on the other side of the fence.

In many functional areas and industries, leading companies never stopped pursuing the game-changer passive talent that drives a hot new product/service or supercharges a department.  Going forward, your team will need these methods to win your share of top talent, too.  Is your firm ready to meet the challenges of the recovery?

Who Should Attend?

  • Executives interested in forging a strategic connection between workforce planning and excellence in the recruiting and sourcing function.
  • HR, Staffing and Recruiting Managers working to prioritize their sourcing and recruiting efforts.
  • Sourcers and Recruiters hungry for professional development and information about tools and techniques that really work

What You'll Learn

  1. Don Ramer kicks it off with analysis and conclusions from the first year of the Recruitment Genome Project, the largest and most ambitious longitudinal study that our industry has ever seen. It reveals the DNA of successful recruitment organizations, and brings to light important trends such as a growing need to focus on Search Engine Marketing and Optimization, Social Networks and Internet Sourcing in addition to developing more effective job board advertising and direct candidate outreach programs. He will lead a discussion around these trends and provide expert guidance on which recruitment strategies and tactics makes sense for the 2010 environment (and beyond).

  2. Then the world's #1 Internet sourcing expert, Shally Steckerl, in "Stop Wasting Time Online, Internet Research that Really Works" shows the top 10 most effective no/low cost online recruitment tools and techniques. This session will cut through the clutter and make you super-productive.

Discover what really works, versus what's just hype. In this intensive hands-on workshop, you will learn critical-sourcing survival skills to rapidly identify key talent online and recruit from all the Internet sources (search engines, social networks, etc.) without being overwhelmed, regardless of your budget. Have you searched your ATS, external resume databases, and posted your jobs, but the quality of the candidate pipeline is still lacking? See what the world's top recruiters do next in this economy when they want to source productively against their tough requisitions fast.

  3. Then excelerate your Internet research with Telephone Research. A guru of this forgotten sourcing channel, Conni LaDouceur will show you how to correct identify the talent and initiate contact with them effectively via proactive phone techniques. Conni will demonstrate the "how-to" of successful and ethical, telephone identification to make searches far less challenging. Not only will she help you identify which companies possess the best talent for a given role, but she will present the steps to identify, in organization chart form, the qualified talent your hiring managers most want to hire.

  4. Finally, learn how to Initiate Contact with Passive Talent. Shally and Conni team up to demystify the "cold call" and teach you how to help break the ice, overcome the initial awkwardness and quickly build rapport with the prospect using time-tested, completely intuitive, persuasive communication techniques. We will discuss the "indirect/networking approach" that will turn a NO into referrals and eliminate the friction of recruiting from your competitors. Turning a prospect into an engaged, interested candidate is both art and a science. When do you make contact, and what do you say? Do you email, text, leave messages? When do you call back? You'll utilize a detailed roadmap that turns your list of qualified prospects into engaged candidates, *and* learn to craft compelling value proposition/recruitment messages that will increase email/voice mail response rates by 50%!

Throughout the entire day, the techniques presented will generate engaged qualified candidates for those hard-to-fill requisitions and qualified prospects for future needs. Many real-life examples will be shared including how dozens of organizations have structured their recruiting process from the beginnings of sourcing strategy through lead generation, cold calling, and recruitment workflow optimization.

Can We Make This Any More of a Sure Thing?

Location, location, location

You got me all excited until I got to the bottom to find that you will be nowhere near me.  We do a little bit of recruiting down here in Houston too you know.

There's only four cities in the world?

Of course you do a "little bit of recruiting" over in Houston Bill! As you can see our current list of events ends mid-summer, so we still have another half a year left to come to the great state of Texas! In fact we have plans to visit both Houston and Dallas so please stay tuned! I wish we could go to all fifty states at once but we do have to start somewhere. If any other city is feeling left out - drop us a note here please! You may be surprised to already be in our plans.
