IAEWS survey seeks to answer how job seeker opinions of job boards differ from employers'

The current state of job boards and online recruitment is one of the most discussed and debated topics in our industry. There is no doubt that job boards are changing, the only question which remains is what direction they need to go in order to satisfy the needs of both employers and job seekers alike, particularly given the shifts in job seeker behavior that our Recruitment Genome Report has identified. This is a question that my friend and mentor Peter Weddle is very interested in exploring. Peter and my partner Don Ramer, Arbita's Founder, are very active in IAEWS and in fact Don has been re-elected to their Board of Governors.
The IAEWS has created a survey to better understand how the opinions of employers compare with those of employment web site owners and operators. IAEWS is dedicated to acting as a reliable source of timely and accurate information about the services, practices and status of the global online employment services industry.
The survey is confidential, and takes just a few minutes. Topics include:
- Do job boards need to adjust their offerings?
- Are social media sites becoming more important recruiting channels?
- How important are Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing and Pay for Performance?
Take the survey now and help compare the opinions of employers with those of employment web site owners and operators to increase understanding between employers and vendors, identify emerging trends and improve service to employers.
P.S. If you participate in this survey, you will receive a complimentary copy of the survey findings.

Job boards
Shally - just did the survey. I believe that job boards have to evolve to incorporate social media value-add (like profiles). At the same time, I dont think linkedin or other social media sites can take the place of job board. Most likely linkedin will be the platform for passive, high-level hires and job boards in some form will be used for mass marketing hiring.
